price or 1/4 mile?

1/4 should be mid to high 12's stock since the evo is about 30 less hp and is running 13 flat

So what price estimates and when will it be available?

the evo is going to be about 29k so the STI might be anywhere from $26k - $30k ...

probably go on sale in Sept of this year

I just priced a 2003 WRX and even without all the options the price is around $31K. That's without the carbon-fiber interior parts, no upgraded audio, no special wheels, no boost gauge. I'd guess the price of the STi would be closer to $35K with all of the useful options. Still worth it, but getting a little too high-dollar.

Aftermarket parts for the Subaru are expensive, so you might as well get the STi. That way you'll have full dealer support and you won't have to pay for install charges.

i would get the STI as well, it will be about $4-$6k more but to get your wrx up to those standards u will prolly spend that 4grand anyways, but if u dont have that extra money around dont do it, not worth having payments u can afford

One of the STi's features is the larger hood scoop, so I'd hope it has a purpose. Of course, wings have a purpose, but big wings don't .

no its still cool.. its just that the old wrx had like 227 hp i think.. and the new one has 300 hp.. so its always safe to intercool it from the factory with so much hp

Are you telling me this because you think I don't know it?

I thought the plain WRX had some sort of charge cooler? Like an after-cooler or something. I don't really know about Subarus (at least the non-STi versions).

Looks like the 2002 had a factory air-to-air intercooler:

How to remove the factory IC

So do you think they'll have heated steering wheel and seats as an option on the STi?

That would definitely be a minus if I were to buy this car for driving around Wyoming. AWD would be a plus.

I doubt they'd put luxury items on the STi. Hell, I think the stereo is an option as well!

They are pretty tacky and kind of useless except for looking cool cruising Woodward Blvd. The STi is definitely worth waiting for, but the price is straying too far into Corvette territory.

Yeah, rumor says the stereo is an option, which rocks since I'd remove it and put in an aftermarket HU\speakers\amps anyways.

I hope they also have heated steering wheel and seats as an option, cause I'd get them.
