STP S6607 vs. STP S6941 oil filter difference?

Hey

Shopping for oil filters and all I could find in Denver (80203) is the STP S6607. Anyone know if I am retarded, or what stores would carry the STP S6941? Are the 6607 and 6941 the same filter?

Thanks (bill),

Ashok

Stick with OEM..go to a Nissan dealer. they are about 5 bux.
Also, the 6607 and 6941 filters are not the same, cuz if they were,
they would have the same numbers. take care.

Bill99Gxe likes the STP's actually, I think, but only certain ones... I'm not sure on recommendations though. Between Purolator, Mobil 1, and some of the other top filters, I stick with Genuine Nissan OEM as it's a very good filter-- not the best-- and it's cheap enough.

The 6607 (STP, SuperTech) is the standard fit for Maxima's. It is a very good filter, but smaller than comparable filters (= less filter area). If you want to see how much smaller, go to Walmart or Autozone (Both carry STP, but they are branded SuperTech at Walmart, exact same filter) and pull out a 6607 and compare it with any other filters, it is at least an inch or two shorter. With that being said, I would rather have an undersized, quality filter like the STP than a normal-sized POS like FRAM. The 6941 is a filter made for some mid 90's Porsches. It is $7 or $8, but nearly twice as big as the 6607, and many here on the org have been successfully using the 6941.
