to those that have the Bose CD/Tape player...

how many of you actually use the tape player?

I never did until I found two tapes in my room (Ice Cube: Predator and Pearl Jam:Ten)...popped Cube in, and DAMN, that's a great tape player!!!

but, it only makes me appreciate CDs more...

Billboard and the editor... here come's the Predator.

I just got back into listening to old school hip hop and rap again, after taking several years off due to all the crossover sellouts out there.

I agree, Ice was/is a genius with MOST of his music. And some NWA stuff was off the hook (great bass track - "B!tch betta have my money" lol).

I now have an MP3 disc with all sorts of rap/hip hop on there in constant rotation.

BUT, that was AFTER I replaced my stock bose tp/cd with an Alpine 7894 however (oh, and if ANYONE can help me stop the damned alternator whine, I would make like 2 Live Crew and love you long time).

metaphorically speaking of course.

I agree. Don't know if its cuz I'm getting old,

I couldn't agree more. And EVERY video is the same - some camera angle shot from the top of Homey's And 1s, with Brotha making hand gestures like an epileptic on crack with his sixteen hangers-on in the background frontin on the Navigator on Dubs while Booty-Shaking Sista ****** around in skanky clothes...

What happened to the good old days of hip hop when you had Big Daddy Kane and Scoob and Scrap dancing cool steps, or some EPMD talking Strictly Business, or some Whodini telling us that the Freaks only come out at night???

Oh well.

I guess everyone decided that image was more important than the music.

I don't own a tape either, so I hooked up my discman using the tape adapter just to try it.

I've used it once.

My gf and I were driving to Myrtle Beach, and we cracked out our old high school band tape.

Good ****!

I removed my 2k2 BOSE 6 disc changer without ever ever using the tape deck..

So my deck is like BRAND NEW!! lol..

Hey Blaxxima.. I know how to fix your engine noises as i had the same problem on my 2k2..

ITs because the maxima does not have a ground wire to power the deck so the installer must have just put the wire on a metal area of the car.. If you relocate this wire you can rid of 100% of your engine noise!!

Thanks Ed. Are you saying it's BECAUSE it's on a metal area of the car? or that it needs to BE on a metal area of the car? I can move it to somewhere plastic if I have to... I did rewire the ground from the chasis just above the Heat controls spot to the bolt above the dead pedal... but to no avail.
Check a post about RCAs in the Audio / Electronics forum for more info if you want.

Hey blaxxima..

you have to find a metal area where there is no signal noise..

If worst comes to worst you can use a bandaid fix... use a ground loop isolator.. available at any radioshack!!
