Ran a riced out Z24 Cavalier tonight...
Tonight I'm driving home and a riced out Cavalier is weaving behind me and then flies by me. It had dual exhaust and sounded ricey as hell, and I'm sure it was more modded than just exhaust, plus he had a 5-speed. I'm an auto with intake and y-pipe if you couldn't tell from my sig. Anyways, I pull up next to him at a light, and his girl looks and me and smiled knowing that we were going to race. The guy looked pretty cocky too. Light hits green and I spun my tires (as always) and he jumped out by 1/2 a car. then as it continued, I started walking. By 85, I had a car, maybe even a car and a half on him, so I quit. He kept going and going, probably because he was so ****ed that he lost to a 4-door family sedan. But I really need to work on not flooring it when I launch!!

I've had my Y-pipe for about 6 months now and combined with the intake, its great. Only problem is that I've got really crappy low-end power but sweet high-end. That's why I prefer highway racing to from-a-stop racing, but hey I take what I can get.

Is the noise bareable or do you have stock muffler, cause I hear the Y makes a dramatic difference in tone? [/
Yeah I have a stock muffler, so the noise from the Y-pipe is barely noticable. But I did do a custom upper intake piece which took the resonator off, so my intake is the only thing you can hear anyways. It's LOUD! I scare women and children on the road with it.

And the hybrid intake doesn't yield as much low-end power as some people claim, unfortunately.
