quiet muffler
#1
Hello All,
It's been some time since I've been on this board for several reasons but I'm back now.
I've mostly just read the posts and learned from everyone's insight but I do have a question now.
I'm looking into getting an aftermarket muffler for my '99 SE but I need to know which are the quietest. My finance doesn't like it loud so we are going to compermise.
Are there any types or manufactures that are the quietest?
Maybe an universal?
Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
Tom
I currently have a PR CAI, Cattman SS Y and RT free flow cat.
Thanks!

RE: Quiet Exhaust...
I know the Stillen exhaust it quite loud (argueable) with a Y-pipe. The best performance exhaust while mantaining a fairly quite ride (not as quiet at stock) if the Hong Kong Sports muffler (www.HKSUSA.com). However, for the quietest ride while still mantaining a good performance level will be a 5th generation Maxima exhaust. Lots of people tend to go with this, because you can get them used quite easily, and they are not much louder than stock. Whatever you get, it will always be a little louder than stock because of you're y-pipe. Just trying to help .
