Newbie, I just bought a 2000 SE 5 Speed
#1
I just picked up a 2000 SE 5 speed. I traded my 2000 Mustand GT for it! I am going to become a father in a few weeks and I wanted a 4dr with power and style.
What type of 1/4 mile times am I looking at with this car (stock of course, and lightly modded)?
What is the best bang for my buck mod I can do?
I definately could use some advice on a muffler choice. I can't even here this car. My stang had no cats and flowmasters!
Must I use premium?
Sorry for all of the questions.

I'll try & answer your questions in order ... although others will be more qualified ...
1/4 approx 14.8 - 15.? depending on driver ... avg is low 15's
performance = bang for buck appears 2 b intake & y-pipe
performance = ride = rsb & fstb
premium depends on u ... i use 91 octane ... i don't think there is a consensus on this

Congrats on the 2K SE!
I have the same exactly car and I love it! I've had for over 3 years and I can even list you the work that it needed:
2 coils (be ready for that, it is a common issue)
1 front bearing
welded broken exhaust hanger
And thats it. Over 30K miles driven and this car is so reliable. My last car was a ford as well, and I was spending $500 montly to keep it running... CRAZY!
Anyhow, how you have 600 posts under your belt? Had a maxima before?

I kind of just want to know what you searched for to find a 6 year old thread with no specific information in it.
