JWT ECU in a 1998

I'm looking into a JWT ECU for a friend, but I couldn't find much information by searching. If I recall correctly both 1997 and 1998 model years can use a 1996 ECU, but they may get a check engine light (for the rear O2 sensor if I'm not mistaken). Can anyone help me with the specifics or can anyone direct me to someone who has a JWT ECU in a 1998.
Thanks

While my Jim wolf was working on my ECU I had a 98 auto ECU in my 96 5-speed. I got codes for the rear 02 sensor and the auto tranny. It was a total of 7 or 8 different codes.

The car ran fine with the 98 auto ECU.

I'm not going to yell at you hype because I like you, but I say this on every single ECU thread that comes up about using an ECU in a 98.

MardiGrasMax uses a modified GForce ECU in his 1998 Nissan Maxima. A JWT ECU will work just fine except for the CEL. If that's not enough proof that it works I don't know what is.

I know that it works as I stated in my thread I just wanted to know what codes get thrown so that I could see about eliminating them.

If I was really ambitious I'd try running a 1996 ECU in my 1999, but I know at a minimum I'd have to bypass my NVIS. Overall it wouldn't be easy, and since I have nitrous now there's no point.

But if you found out a way to run it in a 99 you would open up a WHOLE new ball game to the guys that do have one, hehe.
