Does a resonator decrease performance

I have been thinking about getting a b-pipe but with my powertech and y-pipe it will be loud unless i get a very large resonator. what size is the biggest the max can support with out a detriment to performance. p.s. it is already kind of a loud setup

Resonators dont kill your performance at all. They are cushioned on the walls. If your inner diameter is 2.5 and you get a resonator with a 2.5 inner diameter your fine. It may be 2.5 on the inside but the outside maybe 3 plus. As long as it is straight thru you should be fine.

This info is coming from me. I dynoed 321HP with a Greddy SP that comes with two resonators on it already
