97 Max 5spd/Blk Int REVISED & PRICE REDUCED
this car is sold!!!
I really am wanting to get a bike or a truck here, and I need to sell the Max to make it happen. The car runs/drives great, has some tasteful modifications and has been maintained by a trained mechanic - me. I have receipts for everything I bought for this car, and I really am having mixed feelings about letting it go - but I REALLY want a bike... or a truck...or cash...
The outside is in pretty nice condition for a 12 year old car. I just put in new headlights/foglights/bumperlights, and the heads and fogs have 55w HID kits installed(8000k). I still have the origional bulbs if you do not want the HID's in there - I will even do the swap. None of the wiring was modified in any way, so it can all be put back stock.
These tires/rims are about 6 months old now, and still have 85% tread left. Rims are flawless - no curb checks or anything. Tires are BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S 245/40/ZR18, and wheels are Sport Edition KV5 18"x8". All bought from Tire Rack and still have Road Hazard plan active IIRC.
Just another shot of the Max right after the rim job and before the new lights in the front...
New parts are as follows - all purchased and installed within the last year;
-a/c compressor
-Outter tie-rod ends
-130a alternator
-Hood struts
-cam sensor
-crank sensor
-slave cylinder
-cv axles
-starter
-battery cables
-brake bleeders
-motor & tranny mounts
-fuel pump
-radiator
-thermostat
-coolant temp. sensor
-knock sensor
-fuel filter
-plugs
-oil is Mobil 1 about every 4k or so
-wiper blades
Modified parts are as follows- all purchased and installed within last 18 months;
headlights
foglights
bumperlights/corner lenses
Optima Redtop battery
5.5 Gen clutch setup
15% tint
Place Racing CAI w/ K&N filter
Budget Stainess Steel y-pipe
Carbon Fiber oil-fill cap(adds 5hp)
Brembo slotted brake rotors/semi-metallic pads
Stainless steel brake lines
" " clutch line
stock shifter cut 3.5" (cut and re-welded so the stock threaded end is still attached)
aftermarket shift ****
blue lights in bottom of door panels and in trunk(does not look rice...)
I also built a false-floor in the trunk(pictures below), but I can take it out if needed. The car is also wired for a 3-way +sub active audio system, and that stuff can stay as well.
The car does have about 190k(Nissan baby!!!) on the clock, but you'd never know it by driving it. The CarFax is clean, so no accidents or hidden damage to worry about either. This is still a car you can get in and drive every day and not have to worry about it breaking down on you. My wife has a 2000 VW Jetta GLS VR6 with only 86k miles, and my Maxima has been FAR more reliable than that POS...
I would like to be able to get $3695 out of the car with all the mods and everything. I am located in Lakeland, Fl and if you are interested you can PM me for my phone # and/or email. I have alot more pictures to offer up, and I can also take more for seriously interested people. Any questions, please ask. Also, I am still willing to trade for a bike/truck so you can offer those up as well.

Audio Stuff;
Alpine CDA-9887 HU
3 sets of custom RCA's for 3way active setup
Seas mid bass's/tweets
3 - Eclipse XA4000 amps; 1 bridged for the mids/1 bridged amp per sub
1 - Orion CS 100.0 amp for tweeters
The 7" drivers in the doors are shown on the left below next to a set of DLS Iridium 6.5s(right) - yes they get the job done...
TC Sounds TC2000 12" subs; there are 2 of these and handle about 2500w each...
The entire car was re-wired with 14ga. speaker, and 0ga. pwr/gnd wire. I took everything out of the trunk, and globbed-on some rubberized-bedliner. This stuff is now about 3/8" thick in most places, and has muffled out most of the rattles I had going on back there. I also put expanding-foam(15 CANS!) between the outside of the quarterpanels and the inside of the trunk, which seems to have gotten rid of alot of road noise and may have made the bass "snappier".
The crap Ma Audio amp and DCX-730 are no longer in the car - just a flashback from my high school days
For the false floor - I basically just took out the factory carpeting, layed it down on a 3/8" sheet of particle board(VERY light) and cut it out with a jig saw. Then I ripped that in half from what would be front-back once its in the car - you have to cut it down or it won't go in the car. After it was all done, the whole floor assembled weighs less than 5 lbs.

The brakes have just been re-done as well; new semi-metallic pads and the rotors were turned. It stops something serious now.
Leaks? None. The tranny was leaking from the speed sensor about a year ago but I fixed that. I never have to put fluids in it except when I change them...
Lakeland is about 3-4 hrs from Miami but we can work that out as well

This is after all 4 brake calipers had been powder coated black to get rid of the butt-ugly red paint...
That is water on the rims, not scratches...

The HIDs - 8000k 55w bulbs in both headlights and both fog lights. Please keep all the HID swap bs out of my thread! I still have the stock bulbs and all to put back in so if you don't want/like the HID's, it can all be put back to stock in about 5 minutes and I will do it for you.
s,

The sub setup that is currently in the trunk. Each sub weighs about 40lbs, the box is about another 45lb, and there's about 25lbs worth of amps - all in all theres probably a good 175lbs of audio equipment in the trunk. If the buyer doesn't want or need it, I can put in something a little more... conservative.

All pm's replied...
I spent all freaking day cleaning the Max today - she looks brand new IMHO. I tried to take some shots from every possible angle so you could see the condition of the car and how it looks...

I have a neighbor selling a white max and was trying to find it on craigslist... and ran across your post and followed it here.
Just wanted to say that it is very clean. Wish I would have seen it around somewhere - surprised I haven't.
I had a 98 Pearl White and absolutely loved that color.
My 99 is in pieces in my shop right now - front bearings/hubs/transverse links/etc...
Anyway, free bump I guess and very nice car.

Anyway, I didn't mention the drop because it is stock It's just a good wheel/tire combo and it turned out well. Stock SE springs/struts FTW, but it could use a little more drop. Suspension was my next project, I just didn't have the funds for it and I am trying to get a truck now so I am not sinking any more money into this car...

Also, for the list of NEW parts on my car, I don't think $4500 is too high at all - that's why I still have it. I've had several offers for $4 but I don't need to get rid of it that bad, it is more of a want than a need...

A boosted VQ with 130k is comparable to a NA VQ with 250k - just MHO. If you have a boosted Max, you are more than likely ******* the hell out of it at least part of the time(generally at least). I don't race my car and actually drive like a grandma most of the time. What kind of shape was the rest of your car in?

Sure - you have other rims to put on it to drive it away or are you going to carry it? I could let it go for $3k w/o bang or shoes...
The value of this car IMHO is not so much the customizations - its the new parts. Bluebook value doesn't take into account all the brand new crap I just spent money on to get this thing running in like-new condition - not to mention the customizations that are installed...
Yes the Max has some miles, but anyone who knows Maximas (which you should if you're on this site) knows that ain't **** for a Max, especially one that has been maintained by an ASE trained tech/car nut and shop operator.
