VAFC 2 and ECU issues
Ok a little background. When i first installed the piggyback a month or so ago this problem occured, then went away. I had the battery disconnected for roughly 6-8 hours. Hooked the piggyback up properly. Heres the problem, when i woudl start the car it would start fine, then immediately die, unless i gave it some gas. This happened for a few days then went away.

Again, i had the battery disconnected over the weekend. I was putting on new gaskets for my headers cuz i had a leak. It started up fine, i drove around some and then turned the car off to get some gas. When i started it up, it happened again. The car will not idle without me giving it gas. I have the stock ECU. Does anybody know what the ECU is doing during this re-learning process to make the car die like it is? All functions/guages of the unit seem to be working fine.

Could u tell us the settings you have on the AFC? to make sure you have the right car type/ MAF in/out, sensor type, etc...

Car Select: 6 cylinder, NE arrow, V/T 1
Sensor No: 1 in, 1 out
Sensor Check: Pressure = 1.275 V, Throttle = .645 V

In Monitor mode: Pressure range goes from -12.xx psi to + 11.xx psi

An SES just popped up...im goin up to autozone right now.

Check the MAF in/out wiring. Maybe that or the MAF's on it's way out...

SES codes were P0300 - multiple random misfires and P0327 - knock sensor circuit low voltage. Lol the exact same codes as last week. Dealership just replaced a coilpack and 4 spark plugs. Time to go back...

did you happen to wire the KS into the VAFC install for whatever reason?

Hopefully once they see how the car starts up they'll replace the MAF

Yes i did. Should i not have done this? I used Puppets wiring diagram: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....wiring+diagram

Remove that wire to the KS, i did the same and it caused some really nice hiccups while driving.

Make sure you have it set to hot wire also. It couldn't hurt to go over the wiring again either.

Cars running good now, no SES, start ups are good, but i had a question. What is having it set to hot wire?

HW = MAF type airflow sensor vs pressure type.

MAF/Karman/Pressure + ECU

oh yea thats a big issue, cant run pressure sensor type for us mate, thats only if you had a MAP sensor. We have a MAF (AKA, Hotwire)

Since when can you set "Hotwire" instead of "Pressure" in a VAFC. I havent seen that option listed anywhere.

Ohh didn't realize vafc didn't have hotwire.

I do it through etc. > sensor type > hotwire > 1in 1out
