15mm or 20mm wheel spacers for the rears?
hey guys im deciding whether or not to get 15 or 20 mm for my 235/40/18 tires. I kno the 20mm stick out perfectly on the stock 17's but will they be too much for these tires? I was also thinking about getting 245/40/18 tires after the 235 wear out. The wheels are the mille miglia VR's. I think the offset on the these are the same as the evo 5's. Any feedback or picks would be appreciated.
Thanks

I don't have a 5.5 gen Maxima SE, yet! I'm shopping right now.
I do have a set of 18x8's 114x5 42mm offset with 225 40 18's. I was hoping they would fit the '02-'03 Maxima SE that I plan to bring home real soon. From reading this thread, it sounds like they will fit fine in the front with no spacer. And, the 20 mm spacer in the rear gives it a better looking stance, but isn't necessary for clearance.
Is this correct?
I don't know the stock tire size. So, now my only concern is the 225 40 18's will look too small in diameter leaving even more wheel gap than stock.

Do you have these tires installedo n the car? If so. Just measure how much you would want the wheels to stick out more. That's how i figured out i wanted 20mm instead of 15mm. I wanted about 18mm more out so i went with the 20mm spacers.

The same thing.
Hmmmmmmm I was thinking about the same thing. I have 235/40/18" MM Evo 5s, and want to get spacers in the back. Wasn't sure which ones to get 15 or 20mm. Well let me know OutMaxxed what you'll consider. The pics would be great to see, if you'll install them.

Shurik- ill let u kno what i decide after i actually get some time to put one of my wheels on and check how much i want them out.
dtholmanmax- theres a bunch of spacers out there but im looking to get the spacers which already have the studs pressed in them so i wont have to do all the work of putting in new studs. Eibach makes a good wheel spacer and so do H&R. Im planning to get the Kics wheel spacer after i figure out what size i want. Eibach goes for about 140 and Kics go for about 100.

KICS Wheel Spacers: http://www.istoreparts.com/kics-whee...0-p-14443.html
20mm = $98.00 Pair
H&R Trak+ Wheel Spacers: http://www.hrsprings.com/site/index.html
20mm = $125.00 Pair
Now there could be other places to buy the H&R's cheaper i don't know, but i saw the KICs at a higher price at some other sites. Anyway i know nothing about KICs, can anyone speak of there quality? we all know about H&R

Don't get any spacers that are not hub centric! The ones with the bolts on already are usually not hubcentric and the bolt quality is crap! Trust me I went through this headache two bolts ended up stripping ( see my domain on the BBK page)when installing a BBK on my 4th gen. The H&R are great quality and hubcentric with longer studs, you just tap out the old studs with a hammer once you've removed your caliper and rotor. As far as the KICS I couldn't say but on the KICS link in the above thread it doesn't say anything about being hub centric. If you don't have hubcentric spacers your going to get vibrations which feels like your wheels going to fall off! I'd recommend H&R. I bought mine from these guys good deal:

EDIT: I checked the group deal section and see a couple threads by automax_95 but none to deal with wheel spaces, tho i am interested in the SS brake lines now, all i need is more $$ to spend. the only wheel spacers group deal i saw was for eibach and they were 140 shipped for 20mm...no thx

It's on this thread:

5mm for $65, 15mm for $96 shipped. Not sure if he's posted anything about 20mm's though.

i was going to get the kics but after reading that they suck a few posts up changed my mind. What about the Eibach spacers? are they hubcentric? i wanna get the Type 4 ones (studs pressed in already) Dont kno if this will help but i have those hubcentric rings on my rims, does that have anything to do with the spacers im gonna buy?

sup kelv, you should get 15mm. ive seen your car and the rear isnt as tucked as my stockers. i think 20mm will stick out too much. oh and im still pretty much stock, just got 6k hids and yellow fogs.

heres a link to a site that sells eibach spacers. read what it says under Type 4.
http://www.livermoreperformance.com/...l_spacers.html
so i should be ok with these right? i just want the ease of taking these things off when ever i feel like it. Thats why i want the ones with the studs already pressed in
...OH YEA, ive decided on 15mm spacers with my mille miglia VR's. I went out today(in the blistering cold) to put one of my wheels back on. Put a ruler on my tire to measure how much space it was tucked in and a piece of cardboard on the inner fender to see exactly how much it stuck out to the fender.

Go with the H&R, for 15mm you want model #HR3065662 and for 20mm model # HR4065662

who here has successfully installed the eibach spacers with the studs in them? Id would really like the ease of taking the spacers on and off when ever i like with out haveing to take off the caliper and rotor... but i hear ya MAXRB8

ok ive decided to get the H&r 15mm. but this is to MAXRB8.. whats the difference between the HR3065662 and the HR30656621. I kno the HR3065662 has a 14.25mm shoulder on the stud and the HR30656621 has a 12.85. Why did u recommend the HR3065662?
