HI FELLAS I got some questions..

HI, I just bought my 2000maxima a month ago. This is my first car. I really don't know much about car ,but I 'm trying to learn. I'm glad I found this forums for maxima. Anyway, here are my questions. My maxima has 16" tires. It's GXE I think ( the taillight is ugly red and no moonroof , no leather). Can I replace my 16" rims to 18" without any kind of modifacation? Will 18" fits in without problem? And I also want to drop my car, the giganic gap between tire and car body is really ugly. Does anyone has any good suggestion about rims, spring, struct tower bar and also brakes setup? Like I said, I'm a noob about cars. Please help me out with these questions. Thx

Welcome. U came to the right place, yes u can put 18's without any modifications. about springs and shocks there are many options out there, i havnt done my suspension yet so i wouldnt be able to answere that question. as for a strut bar you can get a good one from Southwestautoworks.com, or Custommaxima.com. and also i would check e-bay. hope this helps. also i would swap those tails for SE ones if i where you.

YEAAAAAA thx a lot. I def will change the taillights, I'm saving my money. DUh 2xx dollars for the lights. I just ordered fog light for my max. Hopefully will get them on thursday. I spent 170 on the whole kit. My car has nothing special. Quite boring. I'm also saving for 2002-3 headlight sets. 1,400 for headlights is just crazy. Is there any offmarket ones I could get for less money?

Yeah, def. check out housecor's site, hes got a ton of great stuff and is very informative, should help you out. Heres the link--

As for headlights you could try something like these Angel Eye Projectors off eBay like these. I haven't heard anything negative about them yet.

Weird....Why the headlight only costs 250? I thought it's gonna be 1,500? Or those are only angel eyes?

Those are *projector* lights, not HID (Xenon) units that the 2002/3 Maximas have. They're pretty damn good for the money (they only cost about 250), and I'd suggest you drop your money on those instead. 2002/3 HID units get stolen *all the time* and because you bought this Maxima used, you don't have a warranty on it. If you get those $1500 headlights installed and they get stolen, Nissan won't help you because they aren't originally a part of your car. So, go for the cheaper and every bit as sharp looking, projectors.

Besides, you can always convert the projector units into HID anyways, for like $300.

May I ask what HID stand for? I can convert projetor to HID my switching the light bulb? I think PIAA headlight bulb is kinda good and cheap. What's the difference? Thx to people answer my questions.

High Intensity Discharge.

No. You must switch the housing as well as do other various modifications. There is a high beam bulb but the low beam is the HID portion.

The PIAA is not the same as the HID low beam light but it may give much the same appearance, but not the exact same. For the difference in price, I would be happy with the PIAAs along with the hundreds of dollars elsewhere under my hood.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the org., I think you need to just read, read as much as you can. When I first joined, I didnt make a post for 2 months, all the answers are right here. Check the DIY's, the links, the aftermarket sites. my suggestion is read read read.
