$500 for beating a V6 Camaro

My coworker wants to race for $500. He has an auto '96-'99 V6 Camaro. I have a stock 5 speed '97. What do you guys think?

If you stock, you'd prob. loose...all depends on if you can afford to fork over $500.

same situation happened to me 2 years ago, except for $100. back then i was stock. (my 5spd 99 vs his auto v6 96-99) we raced from a dead stop, and i started pullin on him almost immediately. if you don't pull on him in 1st, you'll definitely get it in 2nd gear. the longer you race, the more embarassing it is for him. race him and take his money. you only have to give me %10.

i would say do it. One of my friends said that he raced a V6 camaro once and smoked it and hes an auto with only an intake i think

I've beaten an auto V6 Camaro in a rented 5 speed Miata. So, yeah, the $500 should be yours (thank the power of manual transmission).

It's stock. And he keeps laughing at my maxima and says that it's just a crappy family car. I will take his money! I just hope I don't missshift or stall or something. lol I've been only driving with manual for 6 months.

auto v6 camaro's are terd's....i can hang w/the 5spd. v6 camaros (3800series II motor) and im auto..so you being 5spd. and him auto..you will win...what are you waiting for....go take his money...

My sister (Stock auto '95 GXE, 170k miles) creamed her friends 90's V-6 5spd camaro. he had exhausts, and a huge system.

V6 camaros = SLOWWWWWW my buddy has a 97 rs (3800 series?) automatic.
we raced from a stop half a car in 1st, 3/4 car ahead in 2nd, 2 cars ahead by the end of 3rd. those cars are lame with the V6 but don't mess with them formulas, z-28s, and T/As!

my friend has bone stock camaro v-6 5spd. the last time we raced i played with him all the way through 3rd gear. ive walked him down from 80 mph to my top speed after he had lotsa jump on me. v-6 camaros way slow.

I'd say $500 would be a bit too much to lose, just in case he did for some reason soup up an auto V6 camaro...(which is a sin, but it's a sin to buy one in the first place if you're not a 16-year-old girl, and then the rule is that your daddy has to buy it).

Maybe go for $200. Stock for stock, a 5-speed maxi could definitely handle an auto V6 camaro.

I changed my intake mani and my lower intake

I'm going for 6 foggers

I don't know how many HP am I using but I'm sure it's above 100 ?

This time I'm going to make 6 foggers I will spray 125 or more ..

I just wanna pass this car and I will

He has exhaust system and chip to remove the cut after 250 Km/h I mean the BMW m5

And I'm gonna get 2 EGT , and a new fuel pump walbro 190 lph HP

Exhaust system , Air filter , down pipe , boost controler , Throttel body for old E-clipse it's 10 mm bigger , intake mani for old e-clipse , he removed the flow meter cage I don't know what you call it but when you remove it you car become lean ?

Bigger turbo , he has a very bag lug in his turbo , limmit slip ,injectors , super afc , boost afc , egt , boost guage , 18 psi boost ..

He dynod his car it was 350 HP at 18 psi
He can go to 26 psi but with racing fuel I wish I don't see him at road after doing this

intercoler , racing springs and many many other things ..

But he has a stock bottom

Oh cam anb bigger vaulve with the retuner and the locks
