almost good bye max. =(
so my car has been up for sale for a couple days now and all i gotten so far were low ball offers. one individual who happens to be driving a 96 black coupe with a 2000 front and rear end conversion made me an offer. he offered his car plus 500$ for mine. his car is pretty much stock besides its slammed on the floor and he has black rims on it. it has 141000 miles on the body and 77k on the new stock replacement motor. ive seen this guy drive his car for a while now becuase he works across the street from me so his car seems pretty legit. tomorrow im going to test drive it for the day and vice versa and see what happens.
maxima.
good- everything especially the whole trans was rebuilt and still under warranty. fast
bad- too loud!!!, cant pass inspection (no cats and check engine light is one), has crack across windshield, needs rear brake caliber, needs new front tires, chopped springs so ride is really bumby thus all 4 shocks are blown, between exhaust and test pipe there is a 4 inch piece of metal connecting it which will rot out and fall off within 6 months.
civic.
good- front and rear end converted, its a honda ( cheap parts and will make fun)
bad ( from what i can see)- its an hx model so its chuck full of no options, no power anything, the driver side view mirror is duck taped on, check engine light is on for some unknown reason.
thats all the bad i know of from just looking at the car but with the 500$ he gives me ill fix some things to make it more to my liking. tomorrow when i drive it ill make sure it feels realiable and do the deal.
if all goes well within the next 3 months ill order and drop a usdm b16 from a si in it and eventually turbo it. but just taking it one step at a time and hoping for the best.

what is the year/condition of your car?auto, leather, mileage? it might not be an even trade for you,2k conversion or not.also i dont trust anyonne that says they have a new factory replacement motor with only xxxxx miles.i wouldnt trade that things probably beat.just please replace the springs, quiet down the exhaust, reset check engine light and sell for more.

besides that well lol im sry U cut Ur springs I just cant get around that because now all 4 of Ur struts are blown, here is the best advice I have for U, keep Ur max fix it(brakes arent hard to do at all, any exhaust shop will have U fixed up quick) and buy some aftermarket suspension so u can have a drop(this will be the only expensive part), dont mess with that civic, just by the sounds of it Ur getting in way over Ur head, and follow the stickies information if U want to mod and U should be in good shape and U'll wonder why U even considered that civic

Well before you start chopping up your springs thinking they will be the same as proper lowering springs, think again..Your stock springs have are designed to control your car at a preset spring rate, when you cut them, the spring/s rate is still the same as the spring/s original height, this equals up to a crappy ride, bottoming out, destroying your bump stops, then on to destroying your strut mounts. Not to mention the safety issues involved when your tires are bouncing off the road when you hit a bump while rolling through a corner.
Aftermarket lowering spring have a stiffer spring rate to compensate for the reduced spring travel, this equals up to a nice ride, along with a nice look.

don't rush into a honda pos, dude, save up some bucks and buy a maxspeed spring set ( 125.00 plus shipping) and some kyb- gr2's ( 285.00, shipped) and replace the strut plates. there's a couple of guys in here that will put the whole thing on for a song/ djfrestyl helped me do mine for 125.00, all i had to do was drive over to his house. and, the c/e light is probably fixable, o2 sensor or something easy. exhaust is cake, add another 250.00 maybe and get it fixed. don't be a honda ***, please....

I dont think cutting springs is safe in anyway, shape, or form, everyone thinks they done it right save Urself the trouble, if U want a drop or anything in Ur ride just buy suspension that suit Ur needs, we really do have more than enough options.

Anyways, I'd stick with the Max and fix your problems one by one.

I agree with MaxGordon7...It doesn't matter which way you go because it's going to end up riced out either way. If you want to change your ways and end up with a nice car, stick with your max and do everything right. I promise, if you cheap out on your car, your car will cheap out on you.
