pics of 8.5" fronts on a 4th gen

In all seriousness, I just got some meatier tires (245/50) mounted and they fill the wheelwells up more. I'll get some pics when my car has a transmission again.
P.S. +1 to the 9s.. if I get another set of wheels they'll be 17x9 +35, no exceptions.

great pics guys. perfect.
i'm going to do 8.5 +30mm for some dd 17"s. should fit exactly like 9"s with a 35mm offset but i'm chasing lip. 17x8.5 +30mm with a 2"+ lip all the way around with non-directional tires so i can rotate.
i'll be using 19x8.5/9.5 +35mm for show.

definately. you will know when my max hits the streets believe me. it's currently 2-3 months into an estimated year long build. you'll probably be seeing an a32 i30 from me before then, but the teaser pics (out of the body shop) should be ready in a couple months.

Thanks man, but then my geometries would be all messed y0!

Tire choice (very few long lasting A/S tires come in 245/45/16)
Ground clearance (seriously, I need all I can get)
Last but not least, 245/45 just seemed a bit small overall, seemed a bit weird to look at sometimes (although it did look pretty badass, especially straight on)

first off mad respect for a hell of a clean max...how do you like those tires? i've been considering getting some but i don't know anybody who has them on a max. are they loud? that stuff..and did you paint your corners yourself or order them?

19" by 8.5"
19x8.5, 235/35/19 series tires, 38mm offset, 5mm spacers in rear
WOWthis does look good!
Hey I've got a 1996 Maxima GXE and want to put these rims on
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-AD...spagenameZWDVW.
What does anyone think.

Few reasons:

haha damn 245/45/16. those 245/50's might even be a bit wider in terms of contact patch on the ground. Ive been reading around that due to molding/casting issues 50 series tires tend to be wider then the 45 series counterparts. Case in point 205/50/15 Falken RT-215's often are wider then most 215/225/45 tires. But then again hear falkens always tend to be wider then they actually are.
Morpheus got a quick question, noticed you are on RS2's. How do you like them, in terms of sidewall flex, dry/wet traction and wear? I just purchased a set, the price is hard to beat. If you could pm me so i dont ***** up the OPs thread thanks!

Ok I was just wondering if you had to do any mods in front or in back for the wheel well or anything like that to make the rims fit. Cause I just bought some 18x7.5 w/ 225/40/18 tires and don't know if I have to do any mods to make them fit. I also have KYB GR-2 and Eibach Lowering Springs, can anyone help me out. Sorry for not posting a new thread but I'm new so I'm not allowed to yet.

Rims on Maxima
Anyway the offset is +40, and how exactly do you roll your fenders???? No idea. I just looked up my tires online and they said they were for a 8" rim not 7.5", so I was wondering if they would fit.

Rushn,
Your setup will fit fine. If anything, you could run spacers to flush out the wheels.
Fender rolling involves bending the flap of metal in the wheel arch up into the body. Either a fender rolling machine or a baseball bat/rolling pin vdub style will do the trick.

Only picture I have of flushness...
(and yes those are SOME of my other wheels, NASCAR tire doesn't fit Morpheus...)
17x8.5 with 235/45s not very low at the moment. I am with Morpheus, I was hunting for 17x9 +30 wheels when I came upon the SSRs. I would run 9s in a heartbeat at the right offset.

you guys seem pretty knowledgeable here - will i have trouble running 18x9s? everyone else i've talked to (outside the forums) said i can only go as large as an 8.5 width. any info? thanks in advance!
#28
That seems like a general statement because offset and tire size most directly impact fit. If you plan on running a low drop, a very low profile and rolling fenders/camber(on the front anyway) will be necessary depending on the offset of the wheels.

That is a beauty, I almost bought an identical black 4th gen, but I was thinking too long, when I came back to make the final deal it was sold. Then I ended up with a 5.5gen...just a newbie, haven't posted pix yet, but i love it...
