Painting Blinker bulbs?

After getting red/clears and clear bumper lights, I am tired of seeing the orange bulbs. I bought a can of silver high-temp paint rated to 500 degrees. I was planning on spraying the bulbs silver to cover the orange. They will still blink orange...I tried it. I am just afraid of melting the paint....do you all think 500 deg. will be enough?

the fried egg look so they call it. the paint kills the light output.

i bought chrome bulbs off ebay. you cant see them until lit and during the day the output is pretty dim which sucks ***.

Haha nope. Im complaining about my orange bulbs (orange blinking). I want them to be silver bulbs (orange blinking) and was wondering if high-temp paint will do the trick.

And yes...its illegal to have white blinkers in MA

I remember MaxrB8 dipped his bulbs in silver paint so that half of it is covered. He had it in cardomain but since he got a Mini those pics are long gone.

Buy the silverstars. I have them and you cant even see them. You can see a lil blue tint but it gives it character and they light up orange.

You can just put a light coat of silver paint of the bulbs. It will work nicely for what you want to accomplish.

**** . . . . i had DTMs and painted the orange bulb black and had semi decent light output. it was **** in the day but at night it was cool. i just used high temp paint. i don't remember what degree but if your bulbs get hotter than 500 degrees you got a whole other problem man. oh and i had them that way with no cracking or fade or melting for at least a yr. now i just the silver stars. light output is so much better but it looked hella tricked. now the tint covers them so it doesn't matter

Dude just go to pep boys and buy some clear bulbs. They are not orange but they are not white. The best way to go. I have them on my max, My signal, my sides, my rear blinkers have these. Never had a problem with the cops

Alright guys I know I can buy silverstars, just dont really care for the blueish tint to them. I guess that white blinkers are not illegal in MA so either I will put in the bulbs from before or will just try the paint method.

If you get a ticket, and you bring a copy of the law that I just posted to the clerk magistrate hearing and it doesn't get thrown out before even going to trial, I'll pay your insurance policy for a year!

And for the record, not in the above link, but if you take a look @ section 7E, you will notice that it is still illegal to have red or blue flashing lights.

when it comes to bulb color and what not i did the red/clear thing initially and had a red blinker bulb and got pulled over for it. the cop said it had to be stock color and i told him it was and he said his wife drove a maxima and hers is orange and his *** tried to tell me that all cars have amber rear turn signals. i asked him how many crown vics he saw with amber in the back and he said that since they're made to be cop cars it doesn't matter. what a ****** joke. then again it is gay *** UT

btw i didn't get a ticket i don't know why. i was kind of an *** to him
