They look more blue than the purple I saw on the .Org memeber who sells them. Also, they look pretty white on the ground...is that the case or just the pic?

yup...i got a set of the bulbs too...i got 8000k though... hopefully i'll get them by tommorow... i'll post pics up...

and yes, the next mod is the Fogs... if you are going to upgrade to a better HID, you got to go all the way... Headlights and Fogs... you'll light up the whole neighborhood.... no need for street lights...

to NT2SHBBY: maybe we can get Juice to set us up with a Fog GD...

I just thought of something...If I replace my stock HIDs with 6-7K bulbs, couldn't I just move my stock HIDs into the fogs? Are the bulb sizes compatible? They wouldn't match the headlights EXACTLY, but it's a much less of a stark contrast to what comes stock. Would that work?

No way can you take your stock HIDs and put them into your fogs... your fogs are halogens... not HID ready setup...

the only thing you can do is buy a H3 setup kit of HIDs for your fogs...
the reason you can upgrade your Stock HIDs is that they are already HID capable, which your fogs are not...

Ok, I'm a dumbass...Let me try and clarify something...Can I take any HID bulb and place it into my stock HIDs, or do I have to replace the whole thing if I want to go from the stock 4500K to say 7000K? If that's the case, then no thanks. Id rather buy a catback exhaust. But, if I can just pop in some new bulbs for around $100, I'm all about that. I would like a bit more of a purplish hue in them. Can that be done by just replacing the bulbs?

Cool. Thanks for the info! Now, re: bulbs...Are they really all the same or are there brands to stay away from? PIAA? I'm just doing a search for HID bulbs on google, and they seem to have a lot. Are those crap or are they pretty good?

On the exhaust, I think I've pretty much got what I want in mind. It's just a matter of saving the $400-$500 to get it.

just thougt I would let u know about it... THE OBX is comparable to Greddy...

As far as brands... u just got to search... phillips, etc. watch out for the lowball HIDs, they might not be what they appear to be...like the saying goes, you get what you pay for...

Would you consider the Philips D2R 6000K to be a good brand/what I'm looking for in a purplish hue? They look pretty good, and they're only about $150.

Just a note. They higher the K value doesn't mean more light output. Just a different color. Actually after a certian k value(4500-5000k), the lumen light values go down.

exactly, that's why i mentioned that the 6000k bulbs are not as white as the 4500k stock.

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. I kinda figured that, as the lights that I'm trying to get are more blue, and they also have higher K ratings. Does anyone know what bulbs they use on the new BMWs? That's the look I'm going for.

Stock is rated at 4300K which is what most HIDs are rated at. (color of sunlight) As for as the output goes, even if you go purple, blue or whateverm Jeff is right the output does slightly go down BUT its still HID and either way you look at it, your still gonna be getting a minimum of 2x the light output of normal Halogens.

I want to know how these KOPS (off brand it seems) compare to Philips and other major manufactures. Mercedes puts Philips D2R in 2000+ S series, so you know those are good, and I can get those for $150.

scientifically, mathematically, and whatever else speaking, the 6000k bulbs are SUPPOSED to be not as bright...

maybe it's the color, maybe its my eyes, but they put more light to the road without a question....

the same held true for my 02 altima..I had a 6000k conversion kit, decided to upgrade to 7500k for more color and they were BRIGHTER even tho on paper there is a SUPPOSED loss in lumens..

either way they are FUKIN PHAT!!!

Once again, Erik....MAD PROPS!

Clipse...I don't plan on upgrading fogs for a while, seeing as how I had to plunk down last night for a new HU (fukin second Bose HU and it's cutting out )

if you have them in a couple months, I'll prolly take it....don't hold on to them on my account tho....if you can sell them, more power to ya!

they are awesome......

Maximaniac....to make things simple for you, I'll explain to you Philip's nomenclature (seeing as how when you call them up they have no clue)

the 85126 bulb is Philips standard 4300k bulb (stock in our maximas-I have mine in my bedroom right now)

the 85126 WX bulb is Philips 6000k Ultinon series....if you can find them for $150 for the pair, cop them with the QUICKNESS!!

the Ultinons are the best HID bulbs by far in terms of quality/color/brightness......my issue with them was price...the cheapest I saw them for was $240 shipped on ebay from Taiwan....

I went with KOPS mainly cuz of the GD and the fact that Juice had pix to back his product....I haven't seen many pix of Ultinons...

hope this helps...any further questions, don't hesitate to ask
