I used to have 98 GXE auto and took it on a trip 1000 miles each way. The car took me there and back safely with no problems as it was well maintained and only had 300k miles on the clock :D

I would stay away from injen. I would do SRI with AEM filter. Next would be exhaust and then wheels.

I had the same problem with my old 98. I went to a junk yard and bought a cable (runs from the starter to the + of the battery) for 5 bucks and replaces mine. Done!
