Its because when your car hasn't had time to heat...

Its because when your car hasn't had time to heat up, the air the engine is running on is cold which allows it to combust more and generate more power, most people who race see their best times...

just an idea:
leave the dipstick out when the engine is running and turn off the car and put the dipstick back in and wait for a minute then take it out and see what it reads.

my 95 maxima smokes sometimes after sitting a while, just as his does, only the smoke that comes out isn't blue its white. could that still mean its burning oil? or somthing else?
