One of your electrical connectors. Just look around for some bare wires. I would put my money on it being important if it fell off your car. Usually connectors aren't on there for aesthetics.

Try disconnecting the IAC valve connectors like you would if you were adjusting the idle and start your car. If the problem stops, maybe the IAC valve is malfunctioning somehow.
