Basically the same, but there are differences in the pan, I think - I've used a valve body from a Maxima on an 02 Altima and it was fine.

Well... between my Maxima VQ30 and my Altima VQ35 ... no question which I would rather drive. The 3.5 of course. And no it doesn't burn oil. But then again it only has 75K miles on it.

What is brake cleaner? Perhaps if you told us what chemical you sprayed into the intake we'll be able to get an idea. Sounds to me as if you have damaged the MAF sensor.
