I was thinking of doing something like that but was afraid that I would start blowing fuses. My problem sounds exactly like yours oldngivout, if I can't find any solutions tomorrow I might just do...

Just looked at my car and there is no power getting to the relay, great. The Chilton's wiring diagram shows it coming from the computer. The computer fuses/relay are ok, so maybe the wire is broken...

Wow that is exactly what happened to my car. It didn't start, had it towed home, exact symptoms as yours. Last night I changed the fuel pump relay and it started, I drove it around to check it out...
