To remove the upper portion of the intake manifold on an 89 do you have to drain the engine coolant. Chilton says yes for 85-88 but does not mention it for the 89. Haynes makes no distinction and...

mine did the same thing when in the process of doing my timing belt I left off the plug to the maf when I took it off to get the lower radiator hose off. It went into a "safe" mode.
