No I would not worry about it. It will last a long time, and when it does start to weep a little you will have plenty of time to replace it.
They rarely ever just fail totally.

And there is really no way to determine the charge accurately other than by weight.

Replacing just the AC compressor clutch and pulley assembly is possible in the vehicle. It is tight but it can be done.

Simply apply 12VDC to the clutch terminals and see if it pulls in.

I agree on all the other stuff, but head gaskets are unnecessary in my opinion.

If you suspect it needs those for any reason, I would choose another engine just to be safe.

2004 Maxima will only accept the 04 transmission. The 05-06 will interchange with each other.

Not sure why, but something changed in the wiring of the 2005 car that makes the 04 version unique.
