if you read my piece above about the change over...
if you read my piece above about the change over to an inline pump, it was on an 87 wagon. Just pull up the back seat and remove the cover plate and access to the pump is then easy.

Your right, if all they had to replace were the hoses then you did get 'hosed'. There may have been broken steel passthrogh lines in your sending unit however and if that be the case...

As a matter of fact I just now looked up a price for the MAF sensor. I have an explorer that wouldn't start at all untill I removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it with a non-flammable brake cleaner....

I haven't been able to find the procedure for accessing the ECU, the crap book I have (Haynes) doesn't mention it and neither does the owners man. I checked oput the crank angle sensor and it was OK....
