Umm.. I'm pretty sure Autzone has the slider pins, and they come with bolts... why not just replace the pins as well.. They're like less than 10 bucks for a pair.

The only thing the knock sensor does is retard the timing.. It will not cause your car to shut off.. Have u tried cleaning TB, IACV, or replacing the ECTS or MAF sensors?

I wouldn't bother trying to install this yourself, you'll probably break the bolts and then have to drive to Midas sounding...
