Yup. I'm 99% sure its your alternator. My car did that a few months ago where I would jump start it and then 10 minutes later, the car would just die while I was driving.

Do you mean the nut on the idler pulley? If so, then no I'm not loosening the pulley bolt. Is it necessary? After I replaced the new drive belt, I tightened the bolt and then I tightened the belt...
