When there is no codes as per what I just went through so I may be a bit heavy headed but anyways I would start looking at fuel problems then revisit.

I agree with this statement 100% If the knock is reduced on what ever cylinder then you know its an internal (not good) problem. Do this and nothing changes get back to us I'm curious myself.

Moral of the story is I replaced that recirculate valve. When I put the pump and sending unit fuel filter all together I did find that I had to assemble in this...

That's where I would check. otherwise about the only thing left would be control arms but they are usually more forward backward problem not left to right.

To toss it out here did your mechanic consider inter tie rod especially the left side. Mine is going bad but I am in alignment enough to not wear the tires.

Pump relay is good. I took off the FPR from the fuel rail and no gas at all coming from there. Took that off also from the junction block on the fire wall no fuel pressure there either....
