I've been a mechanic for over 20 years thicker oil covers up your problem. I figured all along it was a oil drain back problem but wanted feedback from others.

As a FYI I fixed this problem. It was a bad anti-drainback valve in the oil filter. I had tried fram,Nissan and the fix was a Mobil 1 oil filter for 13.00 bucks. Grrr! Glad that did it though. Keep...

Sounds like a bearing knock, but it's only for a quick second. Only happens if it sits for 40 minutes or so. Engine is very quiet running.

It ended up taking 5.5 qts, but this was dropping...

It ended up taking 5.5 qts, but this was dropping the pan and cleaning the screen. At $6.75 a qt plus the gasket this ended up being a bit pricey.

How many qts will it take if dropping the pan and cleaning the filter? I'm going to use Castrol import trans fluid.

Is the filter just a screen? I was wondering if it can be just cleaned with brake cleaner if it is? I am doing mine and will drop the pan and change/clean the filter.

SKRE4F04B on there 2000 Nissan Maxima SE? Is it easy to install? Is the valve body on the side or bottom? I'm a mechanic by trade, but don't do tranny work besides services. I only want the SK kit...

Basically I'm looking just to firming up 1 to 2. Btw mine downshifts no problem going up hills or passing now stock now.
