Really sounds like the ignition switch. Pull the switch out of the back of the lock cylinder, and with the key in the lock cylinder (if you have the transponder key) turn the ignition switch manually...

I got a reman starter from napa a while back, and it worked ok at first then after a while sometimes the starter motor wouldnt catch the flywheel. it would just "zingg", without cranking the engine....

did you check to make sure it wasn't locked? I think there is a switch inside the trunk that will only allow the trunk to open with the key. So you can stash your illegals in there and have the cops...

It doesn't "need" premium gas. But it does run a little better since it was designed for higher compression.

Higher compression = may cause predetonation with lower octane gas = may cause knock....
