The access hole caps have opposing lip tabs and can be removed by prying/pinching. The caps will flex enough to easily pop off.

Both of mine kept falling out while driving and don't seem to fit...

I've used armor-all ever since it was first offered on every car I've owned and have not had a single problem except for those few that had an untextured dash surface.
