I just put the big retainer nut back on the shaft and used it as a handle to repeatedly yank on it. The axle had a little slack in the old joints so it was like it made itself into a slide hammer.

Check your CV boots if they're torn its probably your axles. I just replaced axles on my 00 SE because in a sharp turn they would click very loudly.

As far as I know they are the original axles. The new aftermarket axles came with the larger 36mm nut, but I'm reusing the older nuts since they have a shoulder built into them.

I just thought I would let you guys know that the factory axle nut on the CV's of my '00 SE is 1.25 inches. I been trying to find a metric socket for it but standared inch and a quarter fits...
