Why 40 weight oil!? I know the OE spec is 5w30 for my 08 altima...

It could be normal operation. A lot of manufacturers don't run their throttle bodies from 0-100%. I'm not sure why, but like my tacoma for instance. It's at 11% fully closed, and 78% fully open.

If you're going to go vq35, get one from an 08+ altima or 09+ Maxima. So much to be said about the late vq35's and it wouldn't be much more work to get running in your car over an 02-07 vq35.
