I wouldn't think it would be a axle seal as that would be at the bottom of the tranny not coming from the top. I'm going to check it out this weekend and see what I can find out.

my maxima is leaking gear oil and I can't seem to find the issue. It's not the drain plug or the fill plug. Were the hell is it leaking from? I don't want to replace the tranny unless I have to.

no the whining goes up with the rpm and speed. An it vibrates as you put it in gear a lil. It sounds like the whine is like a gear maybe or a something that goes with the rpms or the axles.

I just changed a clutch yesterday in a 95se and didn't touch the passenger side. I actually think it helped leaving it there to line up everything. Just causes more work if you ask me.
