Logo: FIYARUS - IC3D DESIGN

FIYARUS is a local hiphop artist. He wanted to incorporate a nice font and some sort of flames, that have to do with his name "FIYARUS". We decided that doing a freehand illustration would be the most original way to design the logo.

Freehand logo design by Digital, Illustrated by Dre of IC3D DESIGN. Freehand meaning, that is not a font. Thanks.

IC3D 2009.

Comments welcome.

i was real good with it when i went to school for multimedia. my projects were always towards the top of the class, but it's a lot easier to forget than ps and i can do most of what i need to there.

Mark, looks good, but something to consider:

(1) The banner used to wrap the flame in logos #1 - #4 should be dropped; this configuration of an image behind a banner are readily associated with the "MOM" tattooed in a banner in front of a heart. It's more "biker" than "hip-hop"

(2) The font in logo #9 looks great. It fits the hip-hop scene a lot better and look like something you'd see marked on a wall, run with it

(3) The flame does not really stick out - again, your customer being a hip-hop artists, should probably have a catchier image.

Hope this helps, as always your work is still awesome.

Thumbs up Logo: Fiyarus - ICD3 DESIGN

Great job on the freehand font design and the flame. I like the ones without the container box or circle, and the flame as a visual support.
The only thing about fire is that it's more verticle in motion, and "Fiyarus" seems a little too horizontal, taking away from the blast of the fire motion. May I suggest elongating/stretching the word vertically a bit to emphasize an upward motion to give it more fire/power. Also adding a .75 stroke to it to make it a bit bolder.
#8 seems the best arrangement with the flame, without the circle. The underscore is meaningless, you don't need it.
The flame seems a bit static next to the freehand loseness of the type, here I would add a brush stroke to unify both.
I think it's a wonderful logo for branding with many possibilities in evolution without losing it's integrity. Keep up the good work.
