Everyone knew they were imported illegally in the first place.....I've looked into importing a few European-spec cars over the years (Lancia Delta, in particular), and the DOT guidelines are crystal clear that you can't do the old "its a kit car because it was built of parts" clearly violates the regs. It costs ALOT to legally import a non-US spec car....alot more than Kaizo was probably spending on their um.."method."

Kaizo took shortcuts and counted on the feds not noticing.....

Kaizo = FAIL.

I agree, although I thought MotoRex and RBmotoring were legit.

The real way to go is just to wait until they're 25 years old and then import, register as antiques...much easier

This is true, although I've heard the R33 GTS-T is legal to import right now, because it's the only one certifiable for crash testing. Hmm...single turbo RWD, just needs GTR bumpers...

I also think that alot of these people who are having cars seized forget that even Nissan is working against them keeping these cars here. its an uphill battle they would never win.

it sucks, some dude got his fully done up Civic stolen from the mall at like noon when it was bright daylight, its just a Civic but still

but yeah, people will try to get your bodykit off and if its too much work they just end up damaging it and leave. growing up i was sick of my parents cars getting broken into and the cops coming at 2am, and i live in the good part of the city (but they all steal from here because its where all the JDM Soarers, Skylines, RX7, WRX, Lancer Evo, etc. are)

The Honda community in general is worst for theft whether you're in Canada or the US.

I thought about registering one in Canuckistan a couple years ago. Decided it wasn't worth the trouble. I wasn't sure if I had to be a citizen or if just having a residential address would be sufficient.

I think you have to live here, not 100% sure

theres lots of people by me who just import cars from Japan as their income, one guy by me imports mainly R32 Skylines and sells them for $5k-$10k and rakes in the profit. theres websites you can go to and look at stuff you can import, and theres some RHD vehicles for $99 even (little Japanese mini trucks), a few hundred to import it and youre set. Those mini trucks are actually popular here

the guy i buy my aftermarket stuff from (Sparco seats etc) has a yellow imported JDM FD RX7, its sick

Look up the Bill Gates/Paul Allen/Jerry Seinfeld Porsche 959 import fiasco.

Bill Gates's 959 was stored for 13 years in customs!
