Toyota Soarers

Just wondering, whats your guys's opinion on them? ive got a couple grand in running aquariums in the basement that ive lost interest in, long story short i put up a ad to trade all of it for a older RWD Import, running but bodywork not a issue for a common car and something crazy like a 240z not running.

Anywho, i found a guy whose brother is moving to the states and needs his Soarer gone, the only things wrong are a dented trunk and smashed windshield. he said his brother wants the car gone and he wants alot of my aquarium stuff so i hopefully will get the Soarer. I dont know if its the turbo or NA but its got the 2 things i love, a inline 6 and RWD

any opinions on Soarers? and yep its Soarer, NOT Solara. thanks

it all depends on the details. find out what year it is, what engine, transmission (your preference), etc. it's a nice car to begin with but be sure it's what you want. if you're looking for something to toy around with though, some of the '94-'00 years came with the 2jz supra engine, .

yep, RHD twin turbo. he said its mint too.

its tempting but he wants cash with everything else, i kinda want a POS 240sx or Trueno that i can build up and throw on a turbo myself. the main reason i want a beater RWD is to build it up/learn a ton, dr!ft project, and something that i can push hard, i baby my Maxima way too much

the Soarer is so tempting though

Love 'em.

I still want to get an SC300 someday and either NA-T it or do a full 2JZ-GTE swap.

Take it.

umm, 1jz engine. The only cars to ever have the 2jz motor stock, are the aristo and the supra.

i thought i remember reading that the 2JZ in the IS/SC wasnt even close to being the same engine as in the Supra

something like the Supra's rotating assembly was all forged where the IS/SC's was standard cast

Weird, seeing as how there are a lot of NA-T conversions, I'm not sure how they don't blow up

there are plenty of cars that dont blow up when you add turbos

The sc300 2j = n/a supra block. GS/IS = poor excuse.
