lose the wheels and the optispark and you should be fine

Check out www.LS1Tech.com
more than enough info there, even for the LT1

also, if the heads are stock replacements, find out why
if they are aftermarket, find out what kind

If the opti goes bad replace it with the msd and get a electric waterpump ...
youll be all set

but you gotta get rid of the 20s. get some nice 18s with a mild drop.

heres a pic of my old camaro, this car was awsome, got alot of complements

look for some wheels...somewhere, anywhere....that are not 20" chrome wheels. Put them on ASAP. Then look at the rest of the car.

High mileage for an LT1. Steer clear. Also LT1's are a PITA to work on as half the block is behind the firewall. Wait till you can get something with an LSx in it

137k isnt realy "High Mileage" for a 16 year old car

and the LS1 fbodies have the engine in the same location

all late model Fbodies are a pain to do engine work on, but it is nearly always worth the trouble

the plus are just as hard in my ls6.

I would pick it up and if the worst happens drop in a ls1/2/3 with a cam in it and be happy. I would pick it up with just that mentality for such a good price if the body/chassis is solid.

I would still be worried about the head work. No head work should ever need to be done on a well maintained engine.

I agree with sciff ...

If it has had head repairs made its because it has over heated at one point (comon issue on LT1's if not maintained) and the head gasket blew.

it could have a tiny crack in the block just waiting to pop.

I would keep saving for a LS1 man..

Keep searchig bro.

you need to change the rims and tail lights asap.

Try to find some used c5 vette wheels or something. ppl let them go for cheap .

i wouldnt even worry about the clutch untill you got rid of those rims.

Other then that the body looks like its in good shape for the year.

Other then that the body looks like its in good shape for the year.
i know i dont like those rims either...i m gonna sell them asap plus i got the stock rims as well so i will throw them on for now on...and for the clutch, its really bad that it doesn't even wanna move in 1st gear---> torque less....and i will try to find some vette wheels if i could find other wise i will keep stock till i find some good muscle looking rims....and yes tail lights r the thing i hate the most in the car rite-now...if i find some i will put them on...other wise previous owner doesn't have them anymore.....

no offence maxspeed, but stay away from the corvette wheels on the Fbody
the only ones that really look good are the older ZR1s

when i had my chromed C6s, a TA pulled up beside me with the same wheels
i really dont think it looked right

plus you can get the ZR1s in 11" wide for some massive rubber

i hate to say it, but i guess there is a reason why there are wheel bandwagons for fbodies
there really arent a lot of styles that, i think, look good
