Its a dealbreaker!

I'm thinking of either getting a 5th Gen Maxima as my new daily driver, or getting a 4th Gen Camaro Z28, most likely 1993-1997. Now the deal breaker is the timing chain for me. I've been doing my research but I can't seem to find if those specific year Camaros have chains or belts, does anyone know?

What he said.

What you really should be concerned about is the Optispark distributor...

Ouch, the repair bill for that would be monstrous. Anyway to correct it on those models or is it just a thing you have to be lucky that it doesnt bust?

It's a 4th Gen F-body...there are aftermarket parts available to fix the Opti-spark.

Dont bother with a LT1

for just alittle more cash you can get a LS1 , much faster right outta the box and respondes very well to mods.

also the ls is much easier to work on, ive owend both before... my camaro was qwk but much slower then a LS1.

but i did get alot of complements on my LT1 and was hell of fun to drive, with the hood and slp loudmouth it sounded like it had 500 hp lol

just sold it for 5k not to long ago
