More information released on the Acura ZDX. I'm sure it's fun to drive, but I find its design to be unforgivably appalling. It's like the ugly lesbian sister of the MDX. Not much more information is available at this point to make a preliminary assessment in terms of performance.
-------------------------------------------------------------- The Acura ZDX Revealed
Acura's four-door sports coupe boasts 300 hp, a panoramic moonroof and a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Acura confirmed specs and released more photos Monday of the new ZDX, which is scheduled to arrive this winter as a 2010 model.
The ZDX is the vehicle being pitched as a "four-door sports coupe" and, as expected, will come with a 3.7-liter V6 engine making 300 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. That's paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The five-passenger vehicle has been captured in multiple spy shots, and features such as the panoramic roof, flared fenders and hidden rear door handles will show up on the production version. It looks similar to the prototype seen at the New York Auto Show in April.
The ZDX will come in three trim levels: a base version, one fitted with a technology package and a premium package.
Standard are 19-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels, which are the largest standard wheels in the Acura lineup.
Hand-stitched leather highlights the interior. Pricing will be announced later, but Acura says the ZDX will be slotted between the MDX and the RL.Standard are 19-inch, seven-spoke alloy wheels, which are the largest standard wheels in the Acura lineup.

That is surpring from Acura. But the new TL is also ugly to me. I almost bought an 04 body style, I wouldn't touch the new one.... The new MDX is borderline, but I can tollerate, but this is just beyond me...

The new TL is somewhat ugly to me too, although it's growing on me a little. I had a 2005 TL at one point and while the styling was slightly subdued and unremarkable, it was a great car and I wouldn't hesitate to have one again. The new MDX is acceptable to me also.....but this ZDX is just plain ugly. I hate the crossover-looking element to it. I'm sure the aerodynamics are stellar, but what does it really matter if it's so ugly you have to wear a ski mask to avoid being spotted driving it?

Wanna be x6, where are the handles for the back? Car companies are trying to make the "next" futuristic design and its just somewhat failing...sad
I think the handles in the rear are positioned alongside the rear door window glass, a la Nissan Xterra.
Historically speaking, every five years or so automotive design as a whole undergoes a drastic change. Being that it's 2009, we are on the cusp of the next evolutionary about-face. It's still going to take a lot of getting used to, if this is any indication.

wtf happened to acura? back in the day of the original integra, vigor, and legend, and the NSW they were putting out great style. Now everything looks like a bloated whale with the most terrible grille ever...
The only thing that Acura makes now that looks reasonably good is the RDX
Whoever came up with the whole grille theme for the new Acuras needs to be fired.
IMO the only way to make the new TL look halfway decent is to paint the big silver trim on the bottom of the trunk lid the same color as the rest of the car, and put in a normal looking grille.
They also screwed up the headlights. The 04-08 TL had the best bi-xenon projectors on the market. The 09+ has downgraded to mediocre single-xenon projectors, similar to those in the TSX.
The Acura models all have the same stupid grille, and the Honda models are taking a step backwards, cosmetically. I definitely prefer the 7th gen Accord over the 8th gen - much sleeker and cleaner.

I can't help it every time I see a new Acura I think of this:
They need a factor recall for the fronts grills on all 2009's & 2010's.

No one is goin to buy this car anyways. Their cars are no fun to drive, they lack any kind of soul and they are butt ugly. Acura will never be what it used to be.
