Yeah, the dealers were charging a premium for the manual versions and there were only like 3 of them with a 200 mile radius of my location. Surprisingly, even the auto is damn near excellent, even better once I get the TCM 'tuned'
Was wondering what everyone's opinion is on the Pontiac G8 GXP?
Just picked one up (its an auto, NYC traffic is too crazy for a stick) and was just wanted to get some feedback.
Congrats on the sweet ride! I think that these cars will become somewhat of a collectible car down the road (just like the Impala SS of the 90's). The GXP is Pontiac's last high horsepower car so that has to mean something for its value down the road. You also can't beat a comfy, 4 door sedan with a LS3 that can hold its own in the twisties. Two thumbs up from me.

Yeah, what kind of deal did you get on it if you don't mind me asking. Any big incentives since Pontiac is down under(no pun intended)
There aren't that much incentives unless you are a current GM owner or/and have the GM credit card.
Since I did the 0% for 60 months, only break on price was 1500 off MSRP. Paid 39,500 for mine with auto + sunroof.
I believe the incentives are 1500 dealer cash, 2500-3000 GM loyalty, and the GM card (??). Some GXP buyers on the G8 forums are walking away with some sick deals if they qualify for all the incentives, paying anywhere from 34-36K.
But in terms of negotiating with the dealers on the GXP, they not budging too much on price, only apply the incentives.
The GTs on the other hand, can be had for like anywhere from 26-28K (with incentives) loaded.

DETROIT — General Motors will offer zero-percent financing for up to 72 months on select 2009 and 2010 vehicles as part of a "72-Hour Sale" that begins today. Soon-to-be-discontinued Pontiac models such as the Vibe, G3, G5, G6 and G8 are on the list, including the Pontiac G8 GXP. The sale runs to July 6.
The sale also includes the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra regular, extended and crew cab light-duty pickups, the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL SUVs, and the Chevrolet Impala.
GM said it is also offering reduced-rate financing of zero percent for up to 60 months for well-qualified buyers on several other vehicles. A full list is available at GM's Web site. The incentives are part of GM's "Buy and Say Goodbye" program, also designed to make consumers aware of just how many GM vehicles qualify for the "cash for clunkers" program. Inside Line says: Finish up your barbecue. It's time to go buy that Pontiac G8 GXP. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
