How many Porsche 959s are in the US again?
I dunno, but I just saw two of 'em.
Driving down 101 South, I couldn't f*cking believe it. I pulled up next to one of the guys, blocking traffic, asking him where they were headed. He said LA. I almost followed him all the way there just to ask for a ride in it.
Didn't get a pic of the second one but it was black, ahead of the first one.

Could be a clone, there are a few kits out there. The one in the picture looks to be the real deal. It's hard to tell with out close inspection, I have seen a few well done clones at Daytona and Sebring (parked not racing).

Trust me, I am pretty good at spotting kits. They were real. Drivers were both mid-50s, kind of shoddy-kempt. They were also definitely sporting a flat 6.
I downshifted to first next to the second guy and took off but I doubt he was very impressed... maybe by my body squat when I shifted

Honestly I was actually speculating if I drove right by bill gates and talked to paul allen... if paul allen has grown a beard recently then I guess it's possible as there was a vague resemblance, but my guess is obviously, probably not

With less power
444hp is apparently good for 3.5 0-60, 11.8 second quarter mile and 200mph
But (supposedly) the only ones allowed in the US were Canepa designed modified to 576hp, so they were a good bit quicker...

To be fair, the 959 would cost over 400k in today's money. Still pretty remarkable.
