It's amazing what some people shoe-horn into an MG. Hell when I look into the open engine bay of my MGA I can't imagine much more than the original 4 banger tractor motor in there.

Actually it looks like it fits in the mg pretty well. You guys shoulda seen the Ls1 when they put it in the original mini cooper. It looked like the engine took up the whole front half of the car.

I'll see if I can find a link

[Edit:] Lol I found it

Oh jesus. I love those cars but an LS1 is just too much twist for that thing. Even with a T56 it will probably only get traction in 5th and 6th.

ehh it shouldent be too bad. although I doubt that rear suspension will react quickly enough to keep the back end glued for anything but very smooth surfaces. I looked up the weight of the car and I found out that ford 302 swapped MGBs are around 2400lbs.. The ls1 is a little bit lighter so this thing should be 2300-2400lbs depending on what tranny he went with.

Thats actually not too far off the weight of my car. Only about 200lbs

Very nicely done, though V8 swaps into LBCs are nothing new.

Most people use Buick V8s because they are the same as Brit-sourced Rover V8s, so they at least have some "vintage credibility." This guy should at least take the Corvette covers off the engine. That just looks cheesy opening the bonnet and seeing "Corvette." the guys who use the Buick V8s often get new or custom Rover or Leyland covers for them.

MGs are still a bit piggish though. My similar-sized Triumph GT6 with the original iron block I-6 still weighs in at under 1800 lbs...Probably why Spitfires have alway dominated MGBs on the track...
