Bought a Lexus
I just put down a deposit on a brand spanking new ES350. Picking it up on Thursday. Here I was thinking I was going to get something more practical and cheaper. Oh well. It's a great car. A little floaty but good power and acceleration.

The outside is the black sapphire blue (read dark blue) with the cashmere interior (read beige). Why Lexus chooses such wacky names for their colours I don't know. Base model which is loaded as far as I'm concerned.

Fixed.
Just kidding. While not my taste, the ES is one well put together car. Good luck with it.

Yeah well this all started with the Camry. I looked at the SEV6 but it didn't have climate control. Upgrading to the XLEV6 would've given me that but now the price is within a few grand of the ES350.

Congrats on the car. Not a bad choice at all. And yea, its dark blue color is called Black Sapphire Pearl, while Black is called Obsidian. Wierd indeed, but BSP is one hell of a color. Very deep.
What options did you get? Premium Plus or the Ultra Luxury package with the glass roof?
By the way.... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ . No need to look any further.

Super smooth car. When you start it up it doesnt even feel like the engine is connected to the car but the downside is when you drive it, it doesnt feel connected to the road either.
Depends on what your looking for though. When I worked at lexus I sold quite a few of them.

Steering wheel lock in Canada? Whose around that will steal it?
Pretty car though. I like the aggressive slope of the back window and trunk.

Ha ha! I knew someone would pick that out. Lots of people here that steal cars. Not that the club adds any extra protection.

Very Very nice. I seem to like the Camry SEV6 alot though too. XLE-Ugh. But I like SEV6.
I saw a new Lexus ES350 the other day, White, must of had the premium package or whatever cause It had the glass roof, looked reeeeeeeally good on a white car. Anyway congrats on your new purchase!

Very nice car man! Love that interior. Good luck trying to keep it clean. I have a tan leather interior in my max and man all i gotta say is my next car has got to have a black leather or a dark color interior. I love how rich the leather looks in there and the wood is awesome... Don't think i can afford and ES though, so i was looking at the IS 350, pretty nice also...
Enjoy the car!

My max had a black interior, my Envoy tan. The Envoy always looked cleaner. Black shows every bit of dust. Tan does show more scuff marks though but that's why I got the interior protection package. That and I have young kids
The base IS350 is more expensive than the base ES350, at least in Canada. I actually test drove the IS250. By the time you add comparable options its about the same price as the ES. The IS250 was gutless. It was the automatic but I expected a little more from a small car with 200 HP V6. It handled well though. Very cramped interior. By the time I had the driver's seat adjusted the was no leg room behind and I'm not all that tall (5' 10"). But, that may not be an issue for some people. I have a family of 4 so it was definitely an issue for me.
The two cars are different animals though targeted at different markets so comparing the two is probably not fair. The IS series competes with the BMW 3 series. The ES...well I'm not sure exactly. I wouldn't say the BMW 5 series as they are in different price brackets. The Acura TL? Maybe but its more sportier.

Either way you have an awesome car man. Enjoy it... And watchout for them scuff marks! LoL
Here's a link for the IS on the lexus, it's cheaper but like you said with the options it will be more, but not as much as the ES, cause you still have to add options on the ES also.
