***statement retractred***I feel as though the NW needs to step it up a bit, and show some unity. Thats why I asked about Portlanders here. It seems like everyone on NWMaxima.com is from Seattle-and if you ain't-you can kick it. Just the feeling I get. To all offended by what I wrote...Sorry. I just don't like being told I'm wrong/stupid. Do you? Just because someone else did something you don't like, ain't gotta hate. Or it hasn't happened to your stuff, YET, doesn't mean anything. Keep it real, and look in the upper left hand corner of your page there...NORTHWEST! Yadidimean? But I DID just put you on blast. Seriously, step it up, lets get it together, and quit hating on folks. This is fam. Left Coast!

I enjoy NWMaxima, too. That forum is why this section doesn't get much action.

I am originally from Portland, but I am in The Dalles now.

As for a lot of Seattle members, it makes sense. It is a much larger population base. Actually, it is fun to go up there for meets. It's like going on vacation, but having tour guides. haha

Rather than say why no Oregon love, why don't you take it upon yourself to arrange a meet.

Many people have arranged meets all over the Northwest, some are show and shine others are work meets but we're not laying all the scheduling on one person and never have.

Meets happen as they happen, someone decides they want to get together and takes the initiative to arrange location and date.

If you don't like the way things are change them, don't just complain.

BTW all your life you'll be told you're wrong in some aspect, just let it roll off of you and present an argument with facts backing your view, if you're just speaking from personal experience then don't get b*tt hurt if someone disagrees.

Nozama...agreed! For sure. I normally let stuff fly off me-relatively easy. (I'm trying to walk on eggshells with this...)But I've got one hair that keeps getting tweeked-yadidimean? It's like you said there on NW...If you didn't mean any offense, none taken. I really feel that way-I was really just trying to, for the lack of a better term, pluck that one nagging hair off of my back? Bygones will be...I've been around the Northwest my entire life-Owned my Maxima since it's first mile, and just in the last 3 months, 115K miles later, got the bug to start tweeking it. I've gone off the deep end-and have done so much work on it in the last few months. So, I was just reaching out to other sources for either inspiration, encouragment, elightenment, knowledge-and to offer some of the same back where I can. By no means am I new to Nissans/Infinitis. I started working at an Infiniti dealer back in '99. Then switched over to Nissan in '02. Been pushing my way through other people's cars for years...Well, now it's my turn. And it's going pretty good, and fast, so far. Yeah, I didn't think my statement throuh thoroughly. And really, I feel bad about burning all of you. It's actually been in the back of my mind for the last few days. A hinderence. Did not mean to, not at all. Oops. So I'm throwing the doves in the air, and waving my white bandana. Ya'll forgive?

Noz hit the nail on the head. I will also suggest taking everything said with a grain of salt. It's really easy to get the wrong impression especially when you don't talk with someone face to face. As for Oregon peeps, there are a few in that area. We even had a few meets in Oregon. If you can put something together and it makes sense for people, by all means. Also when it does come to meets...don't set your hopes high. EB did that before, then got pretty pissed off when not many people showed.

So, are you a mechanic?

I am definitely up for a meet at your garage!

Actually, I might be interested in paying someone to rebuild VTCs and install chain guides.

We did have a couple of meets in the Portland area back around 2003 or 2004 and we had two Maxima Drag Races at Woodburn. We should try that again maybe next summer. Woodburn was very good to us, IMO.

I've been brainstorming for the last few days. I'll come up with something. If you'd like to brainstorm, I'm all in. PM me when you get an idea or two. I've never been into car shows, or showing off. Not my thing. It's just a car-but I've been bitten. I took my Max to the Blue Lake show this year. Now, it's like crack. But let me know what you have in mind. Mechanically or for show/meets.

Not many enthusiastic Maxima owners in Portland. At least not here, there's only a few from Oregon period.

Well, there's a meet every so often at the Sonic in Vancouver, 2slicc. They just had one on Friday. It was actually put together by some of the guys at NWNissans. So not just Maximas. Alot of 240sx's, some lowriders, and alot of Sentras-but Nissan-Love is just that. I'm looking to do a little more than that when I actually get my ball rollin. Maybe a cruise to another car show come this spring? Maybe a cruise-in at the Sonic out in Hillsboro? But I would really love to get to know the local Maxima owners better...So Vancouver/Portland Metro...Let us know where you're at. Let's get something going. Ideas? Left Coast!

There is way too much of that stuff 'round this side-especially on the WestSide, by you. I love that 90% of this kids in Portland don't have a clue what a Maxima is. Ha! Playing. I'm just now starting in on the forums, and what not-But, I've read somewhere that a lot of guys like to meet at the Starbucks in the Fred Meyer's parking lot in Beaverton. Right there off of 217. I'll look and get back to ya. And your 240-look into an auto dealer's license. It is based on the percentage of sales you make...so if you make no sales, minimum charge each year for re-registration...and all comes off of one insurance...Mobbin loud 240, with no repricusions. Holler!

I've been to meets in Seattle and Porland. Seattle is pretty cool because of the turn out. Great guys and some nice cars. Sorry I wasn't able to make the last one. The Portland area just doesn't get the interest, but I still try to make it when I know. Went to NWNissan meet in Beaveton once and wasn't that impressed. I was the only Maxima. There were a couple nice Nissans/Infinitis, but most were projects. Anyway, I would try to make any meet in the area.

You need to get an address outside of the Portland area. Do you have any family around?

Most of Oregon doesn't have DEQ. I think only the Tri-County area and Medford.

I haven't put a car through DEQ since the 1990s. I just mail in my money and the DMV mails me tags and/or plates.

It's getting close to the holidays, but depending on my scheduling, I would be down.

Gas is cheap enough now where I could probably get to Portland and back for less than $20.

I wouldnt mind meeting some local Max owners. I think the NWNissans crew meets every other Thurs at the Starbucks in Beaverton but not sure if they are Max friendly (or even still doing it). Give me some notice for a meet and I can try to get there.
