We can both be proud of the fact that we both had the first American hockey teams to compete for and win the Stanely cup. The Portland Rosebuds were the first US based club to compete for the cup, losing to the Montreal Canadians 3 games to 2. Then a year later in 1917, the Seatle Metropolitans were the first to win it in 1916 beating the Canadians 3 games to 1.

****ing sad that neither city has ever had an NHL team. Although the original Chicago Blackhawks were made up of a seperate Portland Rosebuds franchise which came to Portland from Regina Saskachawan.. I know Seattle isn't the best hockey town, but the Winterhawks were selling out the Rose Garden in the late 90's when they were actually good, bringing home the memorial cup in '98. No question the fan base is there. Paul Allen should really just go to a single hockey game and maybe he'll realize it's much more exciting than football or basketball. Blazers FTW but it'd be nice to have another pro sports team to root for and NHL hockey in Portland is pretty much a no brainer. Lemieux, earlier in the year was in the news saying the team will most likely be sold to some investors planning to move the Penguins to one of a few different cities including Portland, so we might be getting closer. Although PA has never been interested in the NHL and he recently re-obtained full ownership of the Rose Garden which would likely mean a spendy lease for any NHL hockey team considering he wouldn't want any professional competition against the Blazers. Although now that he's seen a nice drop in attendance at Blazer games, he should be more open minded about hockey imo.

I've already traded one of the models for a set of injectors, i'd consider trading another some time down the road if a good deal comes around.

Leatherman, Precision Castparts and FLIR are all from Oregon.

Washington has Costco and Eddie Bauer, though. Those are good ones.
