$100 for 5 windows (one piece rearwindow); $180 take off old + put on new tint

For the price, can't be beat. HOWEVER, before you leave the place, make sure you are 100% satisfied so you can resolve any issues on the spot to avoid hassles. They claim a lifetime warranty on labor/tint. They tinted my sis' car perfectly. Mine, the tint had a huge scratch and I didn't notice till 3 days later at home. Didn't bother calling/going b/c it's too far away for me, so I can't review their warranty. Apparently they have a computer which cuts the tint ensuring accuracy (confirmed by another member here a long while ago)

Some Info Here
Where is this at? I looked for it online and it doesnt show up.

Top Edge Tinting - St. James, NY

Hello all. I had my 2003 Maxima SE/TE tinted by Top Edge. Very nice job.
The owner is Jeff, not sure of his last name, sorry. I also had my wife's 2003 Pathfinder LE done with him. Both came out excellent. I'll use him again, and I have no problem recommending his work.

Info:

NY, St. James
Jeff / Top Edge
644 Middle Country Rd. St. James, NY

$225.00 15% all around (no drop)

See above for comments.

Also, even though some of the info is old, you might want to check out this thread:

TintWorks in Hamden CT:
I've been going to this place for 15 years.
Carl is the owner/manager there since day 1, and he still does the work himself. AMOF, when I get a new car, it goes directly to him. He also has the best prices around and guarantees/warrantees his work- if you happen to get a peel or bubble (very rare), he'll replace it immediately.
Very professional, good people.

For the members that reside in the tri-state ny, nj, & ct.......check http://forums.maxima.org/northeaster...orenzotint.com. if you go too the gallery you can see my 04 red tl & my 08 white vw r32. I'm one of his reps, so I can give you a quote for tint installation. Also.....i just purchase a 98 maxima se that's currently in the shop, so lorenzo hasn't installed the tint on her yet. Will post pics soon when she is done.

Hey guys....

When I got to www.solarsolutionstinting.com, it goes to the tint-king website. Did solar solutions get bought out or something?

I got my Max tinted over the summer at Auto Image, in Pittsburgh, PA - I paid 180 for the entire job.The claim they give lifetime warranty on tints. I hope I never have to test this warranty. So far, the quality has held up just fine.

Could someone suggest a good place around NYC area. I'm willing to make a short trip. Looking to get 5 windows done in 03 maxima. The cheaper the better of course, not sacrificing the quality. Thanks

Solar Solutions is still in business. Same location, same phone number. Sheldon sold the business to one of the guys that worked there. I don't remember his name. So they do the same work. I paid $180 for my 2006 Maxima using Suntek Carbon tint. No complaints.

They don't maintain the website anymore so I guess tint-king did the smart thing and bought their domain.

I just did a google search on them and found their new website....

http://www.solarsolutionstinting.net/

I stopped by this past weekend to talk to the guys there. I have to say it seemed a little on the shady side. Has anyone else had their windows tinted there recently?

When I walked in, I said hello....the girl who was in there just stared at me. So I said "i'm interested in getting my windows tinted".

The whole conversation made me feel like I was intruding or something. She didnt offer any information that I didnt specifically ask for, and gave very short answers.

In the waiting room, there were a bunch of kids just hanging out and fooling around, and I dont think they were waiting for a car.

I just didnt get a very professional feeling from them. I ended up paying a little more to go to tint-king. They appear to be a much more professional and established company so I felt better going there.

Its normally $250 for the suntek carbon film.

I think its $300 for 3M, and $350 for the huper-optik ceramic stuff or whatever its called. I told him that Ken from maxima.org referred me and he gave me $25 off.

Make sure you talk to him about how he is going to deal with the dot matrix on the rear window before he does it. Thats the only part that didnt come out so well on my car. There are several threads on here about how to deal with that.

Don't get your car tinted on Dyckman in the Bronx/Manhattan... tint was fine for a year or so then the back windshield started to bubble up... came back to them to complain and they want $80 to remove and replace...
