Nitrous Qs for my 5.5

I poked around on the nitrous forums trying to find some specific information, but some of the questions I have just aren't answered directly here, and it'd be nice to get a full post with good info.

Info on my car for the questions:

I recently uninstalled my AFC and i'm running around 10-10.5 AFR up top with full boltons.

I have intake/SSIM/spacers/headers-back full exhaust.

I'm looking to spray, but not upgrade my fuel system much right away, so that means a low shot hopefully 75 shot. Eventual goal of a 125-150 shot.

I'm pretty set on a NX wet kit that i can upgrade to a bigger shot later. I will definately be running a window switch set for 4k+ rpms. I don't plan on spraying off the line.

I know I need to change to copper plugs, 1 step colder.

I currently have no way to check my AFR

questions:

1. What's the max i should be able to safely spray without any fuel system mods or a wideband, just a wet kit?

2. What all would I need to safely run a 125 or 150 shot down the line?

Any other advice is welcome.

You would need upgraded fuel pump for 125-150 shot. I would say that 75-100 is more then you will need. However if you are at 10 a/f just like you are then you will need to get smaller fuel jets for the nitrous because your a/f will be very rich with the nitrous.

ahh so no need of upgrades to fuel up to a 100 shot? That's nice...

I might have to put it on a dyno or get someone with a wideband to check my A/Fs to see what fuel jet gives me the best A/F while spraying. I'd rather be safe than sorry, though.

I made it very obvious that I'm looking to spend as little as possible on the initial installation and then begin to upgrade later as per this quoted question:

When I upgrade to spray a bigger shot, I will be getting a wideband, and fuel pump... as far as responses go those are the only 2 things I need.

So can anybody confirm no need to upgrade fuel pump for a 100 shot?

You will need to upgrade your fuel pump for a 100 shot. I have used NOS kits and Dynotune kits. I have also seen and helped install an NX kit. I must reccommend you buy the Dynotune kit. The Dynotune kit is the best in many ways. Power outputs, quality, and price. Give them a call and check out their website. They have some high quality controllers as well. You can run a 75 shot safely. I hope this helps.

Great, good info. So 75 shot should be a thumbs up for now, and dynotune kit (i've looked at these and heard good things) over the NX. I guess when I upgrade fuel pump and get a wideband I'll just go with another 75 shot stage.

Yep, exactly. I have the dynotune kit, heater, purge, and blowdown tube. I received a faulty switch with the purge kit and they next day shipped me a new switch for free. Great customer service.
