Pulsing n2o

Could the pulsing of a nitrous system be caused by a faulty relay?

I was testing my system today and my relay was clicking but the solenoid was not, so I am assuming that the relay is faulty. Any thoughts?

Alex.

I would highly suggest getting a voltmeter, this is a great tool to have in general

If the relay is clicking, then it should be good. The easiest way to tell is to just swap in a good relay. Or you can put 12v to it and get your multimeter (that you should already own) and make sure you have continuity.

The only way to really diagnose this problem is with a multimeter. You can get them at Harbor Freight for $2.99. Or a decent one from Radioshack or Walmart for less than $20.

You need to make sure the solenoids are getting 12 volts. Also, just a thought, the solenoids will not activate when the bottle pressure is too high (ie, >1150psi).

oh and to answer your question check your connections, if your getting 12v then your ground maybe bad. And if your ground is good then check your tps or wot switch

fyi solder all connections

UPDATE: So i figured out that i must have rewired the window switch incorrectly or something because the n2o sprays when I bypass the window switch.

Last night I went and tested it out to see if everthing is working fine. The first couple of times were on the freeway (3rd and 4th gear) I hit it and the car hesitated a little and then she moved like a bat outa hell. but when I tried using it from a stop I spun all of first and all of second and when i shifted to third the n2o was sputery. Like i would get power for about half a second then it would slow down again and repeat. What could cause this? My guess would be:

-Sticky n2o solenoid
-Stale n2o? (month or so old)
-Clogged n2o filter
-Something else?

Any help is appreciated.
Alex

You don't have a wideband yet, do you? Check your plugs to see if you are running rich or lean.

Is your bottle pressure ok when it sputters?

What about fuel pressure? Do you have a fuel pressure gauge so you can read it at WOT? That would come in handy and only costs about $30 to rig up on the outside of the windshield.

If the nitrous sprays well in 1st and 2nd gear every single time, I'm guessing it's an air/fuel issue and not a solenoid issue.
