Pic of rear ending not dial up safe

So, I got rear ended as I was coming home from getting donuts. I was turning right yielding to traffic and once everything was clear I left off my brake and then BAM! The crazy part was this lady drove behind me for all the other red lights and was able to stop and this one stop she cant make. I was and still am pissed. Filed the police report and will be doing the claim. I hit my head on the b-pillar because it wasnt a straight on it was at an angle and my wifes back hurts a little. Glad the kids were not in the car with us. They were at home with my brother in laws gf.

Im also mad because I was planning to wash it today too.

It was a 2002 Ford Explorer that hit us. They better not total it out. Im going to be pissed. Later today my neck started hurting. If all goes well Im going to look into getting a 97-99 rear end conversion out of it. I looked underneath and from what I saw the metal bumper support beam suffered the worst. No frame damage that I could see of. So far so good.

Men, I am sorry about everything. Thank God you guys were ok, though you have the ache now and your wife too has the ache.

Hey, men, word of advise, go see a doctor. Preferably one you know. He will treat you and your wife and the lady's insurance has to pay.

Did the police come to the scene? Did they give her a ticket? If yes, you are good.

Men, look, call her insurance company PRONTO! If you have a police report and she was given a ticket, then try to make sure you get as much as you can from her. For, I promise you, when it comes to wrecks, no one accepts it is their fault until the police writes a report and gives a ticket to the faulty party, if not, they might call their insurance and say you were driving crazy and pull this stunt so she can run into you for you to have money.

Let her pay for you and your wife's pains. She has to pay! You don't know if those pains will get worse. Do make sure she takes care of it.

Hey, get A LAWYER who gets paid only when you get paid. Lots out there! Ask here on the org if you need help on that.

No ticket issued to them. Just the card to write down the insurance information and some blue form I had to fill out and mail in. It goes to Austin. Filed the claim today. So far everything is smooth. I go in on Thursday for an Appraisal of the damage. Will see what happens. They better not total this car.

How could they not get ticketed? I would look into that for sure.
Anyways, good luck with the repairs. Definately look into the 97-99 rear since the trunk and bumper cover will have to be replaced no matter what.

Yeah that's not making a whole lot of sense as to why she was not ticketed... In the state of Texas, it doesn't matter if the guy in front of you slams on his brakes... if you hit him, you get a ticket, cuz you obviously were following too closely as already suggested I would raise some serious concerns about it because if there's no ticket/police report you are going to have a much harder time dealing with insurance.... hope it all turns out man... it sucks I know

TX police suck these days..... They aren't giving tickets it seems like! UNLESS they are there to witness it... then they have no excuse for doing their job...

My uncle was cut off by a guy in a truck who crossed 3 lanes from the far left lane to the far right lane and hit him in the front left nose of his car... There were witnesses and everything and the cop let the other guy go scott-free !!!! And the guy didnt have a real insurance policy!! good luck with your case though and definitely see a doctor.. my bro still has back pain from a 15 mph collision he had 5 years ago!

So the damages are 3741.00 to fix with 97 to 99 rear end. Insurance just called and they are claiming it as a loss. I'm very pissed off. I called back but the lady was unavailable . Ill give an update later on the. Outcome.

When is that car going to be taken away by your insurance company?

Do us a favor or do me a favor. Ask them how much they are selling it for. I will buy it if it is one of those their excellent deals. If your engine was good, men, contact them to buy that car or let us know how much they are willing to sell it for.

Nothing done to the quarter panels the pics show the damage. There is slight frame damage that made the gapping between the quarter panel and the back door just a little closer to each other. Nothing noticeable though unless pointed out. I dont kno-w when they are picking it up. I dont even have the money yet. My phone number is 254-338-8274 ralph. I asked if they could increase the amount they are giving me for the car but they said no. So they arent paying for any of my mods. So, my issue is getting them off and replacing them with factory stuff so I can get it on to whatever new 4th gen I am going to buy. And Im going to buy steelies for the car so they can haul it away on those. Im mad. They said for now they are waiting on the title to be received before releasing the funds. Im getting 3446 for my car. The guy said thats one of if not the highest in the data base for recent cars totalled of my year of Maxima. Still doesnt help me, Dealerships around here are selling them for about 5k with more mileage than mine had on them. So, Im looking for a 97 and willing to travel to get it. Craigslist is my friend. Im trying to talk to my dad in getting the funds from him so I can get the car trade parts and then send the title and pay my dad back. I dont know how much they are going for the purchase of the car. Its still drivable. Honestly I think they just didnt want to spend the money to fix the car because of the age is all. Even if I buy it back from them I wouldnt have enough to fix the car.

Yes there is so far I'm keeping the car and the insurance is going to pay me 3100 for it if I keep it. So I'm getting another maxima kinda hard to find a good 97- 99 maxima. My wife wants mine because she wants a black color car and I'm looking for white or sterling mist. I take it a lot of people keep their SEs because there are many gxe and gle models. It also turns out their insurance policy lapsed exactly 30 days before they hit me. I have uninsured motorist insurance which is a 250 deductible. I'm also contemplating sueing the person who rear ended me. So that's where I'm at so far. I think I'm not as mad as I should be because my car is still driveable. Ill give an update again hopefully with the picture of my new Car

So I purchased a 1998 sterling mist nissan maxima SE-L paid 2500 for it. Has 155k miles on it and kept up very well. Drove all the way to north Dallas to get it. Found it on craigslist. My wife is getting the black maxima and I will hopefully have that fixed in a month or two. Pics will come soon.

I'm definately interested in that trunk lid. Any way to cut costs to be less expensive but still fix the black one would be great. Thanks I'm going to have to schedule a time with you so I can pick it up.
